Amanda Focke gave a 20 minute presentation on “minimal process digitization.”
This is the presentation she gave at the recent SAA annual meeting in San Francisco. Minimal process digitization is a new way to create digital collections by using resources available in a more practical and efficient manner. It applies the Meissner-Greene collection processing approach to digitizition.

Implementing EAD finding aids

Encoded Archival Description (EAD) is a powerful XML-based tool for putting your finding aids online and participating in on-line research tools such as Texas Archival Resources Online (TARO). Class covered the very basics of XML, how to encode with EAD, and how to get the files on-line.
There are only 11 slots for this hands-on workshop. Refreshments will be served.
The cost is $15 per person with all proceeds going to AHA!
